I am a scout memorabilia collector!

There, I've said it!

I grew up in Boy Scout Troop 53, Castleton, NY, part of the Fort Orange - Uncle Sam Council, and attended several years of summer camp at Stratton Mountain Scout Reservation, also attending the 50th Anniversary of Rotary Scout Training Center Summer Camp in 1972.

I started collecting patches around 1999, and I am interested almost exclusively in patches and memorabilia of the old Fort Orange - Uncle Sam Coucil, it's predicessors and it's successors.  I was inducted into the Order of the Arrow in 1974, "tapped out" at Stratton Mountain, and therefor have a strong interest in area lodge flaps also.

To sum it up, the following councils: Fort Orange, Uncle Sam, Fort Orange - Uncle Sam, Governor Clinton and Twin Rivers.  The following Camps: Stratton Mountain Scout Reservation (SMSR), Camp Hawley, Big Moose Outpost Camp, Camp Van Buren, Rotary Scout Reservation, Rotary Scout Training Center, Sans Souci, Camp Saratoga, Camp Boyhaven, Camp Allen, Camp Denton, Woodworth Lake, Camp Wakpominee.  OA Lodges Mahikan 181, Nischa Nimat 181, Ganienkeh 181, Ganienkeh 19, Haudenosaunee 19, Kittan 364, Also Conclaves within Area 2D, Section NE-2A and Section NE-3B.  Photographs or Pictures of the above are also part of my collection.

Having earned my Eagle Scout Award in 1976, I also collect Eagle Scouts; namely my three sons, David ('02), Daniel ('05) and Dusty ('06).  In another 15 - 20 years, I'd like to collect a few more.

I don't sell my local flaps, and trade very few of them, and then only for other local patches that I am missing.  I do have a limited number of duplicates.  If you are a local (Twin Rivers Council) scout or scouter, or originated in this area, I will consider trading dupes with you.  I value the patches that have been given to me in return for a favor of some kind or just out of the kindness of someone's heart.  Those patches I do not sell or trade.  They include several OA patches, CSP's and a couple of international scouting patches.

I do have some "out of council" patches that I have acquired as part of a lot when purchasing patches of interest to my collection.  Those patches I will trade or sell on ebay.  My ebay name is Populator.

I track the Eagle Scouts of Mahikan District, which is comprised of Rensselaer and Columbia Counties, plus the Village of Waterford.  If you are trying to put together a troop history or looking up a particular Eagle Scout, please let me know and I will help you as much as I can.

This was the first patch that I purchased on ebay.  It turned out to be the second patch from Stratton Mountain Scout Reservation (SMSR), which was open from 1950 to 1979.  Note the burro!  In the early days of SMSR, burros were part of the program.
