Celebrating the the 75th anniversary of Troop 53, the Castleton Memorial Day Parade 1999.

Local businessman Jeff Snyder (driver) drove our two oldest living Eagle Scouts, Ray Kirsch (front seat) and
Al Bleadow (rear seat, far side), along with our newest Eagle Scout, Stephen Wiley (in uniform).

The boys in the troop (along with much help from the Peters Family) made a float for some of our older Scouters,
and another one of our Eagle Scouts to ride in.  The float had the names of all of Castleton's War Dead listed on
it, along with Troop 53's 1924 - 1999 dates.

Troop 253 and was their Scoutmaster for 14 years.  Troop 253 split up the area served by Troop 53 into two
areas, and both troops thrived during that time.  Troop 253 produced 12 Eagle Scouts during a total duration
of 16 years, 1967 to 1983.
